My mother first taught me the magical power of art when I was a little girl starting school for friendship, protection and learning. I felt like I lost my way for a long time thinking art could only be a side thing. But art was always there for me. Upon discovering my love of mixed media and oil colors I began painting my enchanted impressionist scenes of fairy women and enchanted animals, starry forests and shining moons. My paintings empower you to make meaningful changes in your life and the world.I am inspired by fairytales and myth, and the vibrant colors of nature especially at dusk and under moonlight.

When things seem really hard and like every decision one has made has dug them into a deep pit, I am inspired by that power to turn things around and turn what is painful and ugly into beauty and healing.

 I often start with a magical theme I want to paint, and then I find folktales about that theme and read intuitively looking for evocative imagery about transformation and discovering wisdom. Then I plan out my composition and begin a mixed media underpainting of gold leaf, collage and mark making. The layers of oil paint will partially bury all sorts of treasures for the viewer to discover upon close inspection.
